LoveFlix is committed to making our platform accessible to everyone, regardless of ability.

Our Commitment

We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our service in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Our goal is to ensure that all users — including those who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, or assistive technologies — can enjoy LoveFlix together with their partner.

ARIA Support

LoveFlix uses Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) attributes throughout the platform to improve compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies:

aria-label — Applied to icon-only buttons and controls so their purpose is announced by screen readers
aria-hidden — Used on decorative elements and background visuals to reduce noise for assistive technology users
role attributes — Navigation, banner, main, and complementary landmarks are explicitly declared for efficient page navigation
aria-live — Dynamic content regions (notifications, streaming status) announce changes without disrupting the user
aria-expanded — Expandable sections and menus communicate their open/closed state

Keyboard Shortcuts

The following keyboard shortcuts are available across LoveFlix:

`Enter` or `Space`	Activate the focused button or link
`Escape`	Close modals, dropdowns, and overlays
`Arrow Keys`	Navigate carousels, list items, and video suggestions
`F`	Toggle full-screen mode during video playback
`M`	Mute / unmute audio during video playback
`Space`	Play / pause video

Screen Reader & Assistive Technology

All form inputs have associated <label> elements
Images include descriptive alt text or are marked as decorative with alt=""
Video content supports closed captions and subtitles where available
Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA requirements
Interactive elements are focusable and display visible focus indicators
